130 Fenchurch Street, London EC3M 5LY, UK

Seed130 is proud to present Public Art in the Time of Crisis, an exhibition of visual proposals for hypothetical public artworks created by first-year students from the BA Fine Art programme at Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London (UAL).

This thought-provoking exhibition explores how public art can respond to the pressing crises of our time - from environmental degradation to social and racial injustice. Students from Drawing, Computational Arts, Photography, and Sculpture pathways have created works that challenge traditional gallery settings, embracing the concept of site-specificity and the role of art in shaping public discourse.

Rooted in a long tradition of artists' proposals as standalone artworks, these pieces reflect a generation of creatives who understand that climate justice is inseparable from social justice. Their work addresses the disproportionate impact of the climate crisis on marginalised communities and invites viewers to reflect on the broader inequalities tied to power, resources, and security.

This exhibition also considers how public art can influence and engage diverse communities, asking: Who is the public? What spaces do we share? An how can art transform them?

Public Art in the Time of Crisis launches at Seed130 on Saturday 14th June, and will be available until Saturday 28th June.
